Discover Boating Reports 1.2 Billion Impressions

A report from Discover Boating, a public awareness effort managed by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) on behalf of the North American recreational boating industry, stated that it generated 1.2 billion media impressions from October 2013 to September 2014. This result represents a 42-percent increase in impressions over 2013.

Discover Boating’s 2014 campaign included initiatives such as the “Stories of Discovery” video documentary series, a partnership with country star Jake Owens, social media marketing, advertising and public relations.

The same report stated that, according to Discover Boating survey results, the positive perception of boating has increased since last year. In 2014, 91 percent of people said they felt more positive about boat ownership, a 10-percent increase over 2013’s numbers.

Through online connections to participating boat dealers and manufacturers, Discover Boating also sent 1.8 million people to manufacturer websites in 2014 — an 83-percent increase over 2013.
