The vessel made its digital debut in conjunction with the Monaco Yacht Show. Designed by Jarkko Jämsén and engineered by Arksen and Finnish design studio Aivan, the Arksen 55 is being built by Finland-based Kewatec, a builder of aluminum workboats and professional vessels.
The Arksen 55 has an overall beam of 4.7 meters and is designed to comply with ISO 12215 standards and ISO Category B requirements. Its double-stepped, deep-V hull incorporates full-length fenders.
Arksen lists a range of 350 nautical miles while operating at 25 to 30 knots and a maximum speed of 50 knots at light load. Fuel capacity is 3,200 liters, while freshwater capacity is 280 liters.
The standard propulsion package consists of four Yamaha F450 XTO outboards. Alternative configurations include three Mercury V12 600 outboards or three Volvo Penta D6 440-hp DPI inboards.
The yacht’s full-beam pilothouse places navigation, dining and seating on the main deck. Opening side windows and a 90-degree-opening aft window connect the saloon with the exterior deck. The pilothouse seating can be configured as a U-shaped arrangement or an L-shaped layout with additional galley space.
Four doors and dual side walkways provide access around the main cabin and allow occupants to move between the bow, aft deck and lower accommodations without passing through the main seating area.
Below deck, the Arksen 55 includes a utility area combining a galley and workshop, along with modular equipment storage and a drying cabinet. A washing machine, dryer and dishwasher also can be housed in the space.
Accommodation layouts can provide sleeping space for four to eight people. The forward cabin includes a double berth and private bathroom, while the aft portion can be configured with different cabin arrangements providing beds for up to four people. A second bathroom is positioned adjacent to the utility area.
The yacht also is designed to carry equipment including dive gear, kayaks, research equipment and motorcycles. An onboard crane is available for handling equipment and supplies.
Optional equipment includes a retractable electric skylight, additional solar panels and a roof tent. Hull finishes include bare aluminum, paint or a urethane-based protective finish.

Other companies involved in the project include Fixafell, which is supplying custom interior and exterior details, and Finnish marine furnishing company Riskas.
