Suntex Marina Investors LLC (Suntex), an owner and operator of marina properties, announced the acquisition of Wolf Creek Marina on Lake Cumberland, Kentucky. The purchase comes on the heels of the recent addition of State Dock Marina, also on Lake Cumberland, to the Suntex portfolio. With the change in ownership, Wolf Creek will see exciting reinvestments in the coming months, including new dock construction and additional merchandise offerings within their marine store.
“It is an exciting time for the Suntex brand,” said Chris Petty, head of operations of Suntex Marinas. “By investing in Wolf Creek, as well as State Dock, we are able to enhance the services offered to visitors of Lake Cumberland. This popular destination is a pristine location, and we are looking forward to adding to the already high-quality experience the facility provides.”
Wolf Creek Marina, with 209 slips, provides a relaxed environment for guests, located in Lake Cumberland State Park in a secluded cove. The property features a fully-stocked marine store, restaurant, bath houses, fuel pumps, pump-out facilities, water taxis and boat rental operation.
Considered the “World Capital of Houseboating,” with a surface area of over 65,500 acres, Lake Cumberland is one of the largest and most visited lakes in the country. Of the 383 lakes controlled or maintained by the U.S. Army Core of Engineers, Lake Cumberland ranks fourth in the nation for the total number of visitor hours.
Suntex adds the Wolf Creek property to its current portfolio of 32 marinas in Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, Oklahoma and St. Maarten.
