Bayliner Element XR7 – Quimby's Cruising Guide

Bayliner Element XR7

We’ve talked before about the crossover of pontoon boats and runabouts (see the Marker One M27 in our June issue). Bayliner continues the evolution with the latest addition to its Element line, which combines the space and comfort that pontoon buyers are drawn to with sportier looks and performance.

The key is the patent-pending M-Hull running surface, similar to a cathedral hull, with two outboard and one centerline sponson. The unique design helps the boat remain level when turning yet offers greater agility than your standard ’toon — plus a better wake for tow sports, something family buyers will appreciate.

The XR7 design includes a radical reverse sheerline that allows for both a protected bow area with swim platform and ladder, as well as a deep cockpit freeboard with portside boarding door, enclosed head compartment and facing lounges aft. There’s also in-floor storage, a handy portside entertainment center and a large swim platform aft with available ski-tow bar.

Perhaps best of all, the XR7 is priced comparably to most 22-foot, triple-log pontoon boats with like power. (The boat comes with a Mercury 150 four-stoke outboard; a 200-horsepower Verado is an option.)

Said Bayliner Brand Manager Michael Yobe, “We’ve created an exciting platform that offers space, comfort and capacity, without the limitations or compromises common to even the best pontoon boats.”
